Hacha y fuego se sitúa frente a una herida recurrente del territorio patagónico: los incendios que arrasan bosques, viviendas y formas de vida. El fuego aparece como una fuerza capaz de borrar en pocas horas aquello que la naturaleza y las comunidades construyeron durante años. Frente a esa violencia, la serie trabaja con signos austeros, casi testimoniales: restos, brotes, cuerpos que permanecen.
Pero estas piezas no se detienen en la devastación. En la materia quemada también aparece la posibilidad de volver a empezar: nuevos árboles nacen donde hubo ceniza, y los pobladores reconstruyen desde lo perdido. La vida no se da por vencida; insiste desde lo frágil, vuelve a tomar forma y convierte la memoria del desastre en una imagen de persistencia.
Ax and Fire stands before a recurring wound in the Patagonian territory: fires that sweep through forests, homes and ways of life. Fire appears as a force capable of erasing in a few hours what nature and communities have built over years. In response to that violence, the series works with austere, almost testimonial signs: remains, sprouts, bodies that endure.
Yet these pieces do not stop at devastation. In burned matter, the possibility of beginning again also appears: new trees grow where there was ash, and inhabitants rebuild from what was lost. Life does not give up; it insists from fragility, takes shape again and turns the memory of disaster into an image of persistence.
